Tenant Leasing Group signed a new lease at Villawood, in Sydney, on behalf of client Culture Kings.

Culture Kings are the global pioneers of streetwear. Acquired by a.k.a Brands in 2021, Culture Kings’ blend of music, sport and fashion has resonated worldwide. Tenant Leasing Group has already helped Culture Kings open multiple retail and industrial sites in Australia and New Zealand, with more international expansion to follow.

Tenant Leasing Group are proud to have secured this new warehouse site for Culture Kings, which allows them to keep pace with the growth of their eCommerce and retail business.

The warehouse is part of the “Villawood Logistics Estate”, ideally located in an infill logistics area, 25km west of the Sydney CBD. The site is close to Sydney’s major arterial road networks, with 5 freeway access points within 10km. The warehouse is also close to both the Sydney International Airport (24km) and Port Botany (31km). 

Once fully-operational (mid-2022), Culture Kings will use the site as a distribution centre and screen printing facility. Print-On-Demand is the fastest growing part of the Culture Kings’ business in Australia and the US, so the lease deal couldn’t have come at a better time.

We went to market looking for 3,500-4,000sqm, with the time pressure of Culture Kings’ existing location in Marrickville having become too small. We instantly secured a temporary lease for overflow space – 1,400sqm at Silverwater – and then scoured Sydney’s inner city, mid-city and other central metropolitan locations for industrial warehouse options. We found the high-tech 3,700sqm warehouse in a new industrial estate at Villawood, and executed a fast completion. We also successfully negotiated with the landlord to have the site’s electrical power capacity upgraded from 250-1000 AMPS, to cater for Culture Kings’ growing business operations.

Having already opened a retail location in Auckland, New Zealand, Culture Kings are poised to continue taking the world by storm. Tenant Leasing Group looks forward to supporting this eCommerce/retail hybrid with their bright future.
